Abstract:
"Set in 1797, Billy Budd (Terence Stamp) is a young, naïve seaman on a British Man-o-war. When the sadistic Master-at-arms John Claggart (Robert Ryan) is murdered, Billy is accused and tried. Budd's strong belief in goodness is threatened by Claggart's equally strong force of evil; the consequences are both tragic and lasting"--Container.
